Yichen Feng joins Acumen America as investment director

October 1, 2025

We are thrilled to welcome Yichen Feng to the Acumen America team as Investment Director, where she will grow and lead our investment activities alongside managing partners Catherine Casey Nanda and Amon Anderson. We’ve invested in 45 companies that have directly impacted the lives of 9.7 million Americans and Yichen has joined us to expand that impact and help us take this work to even greater scale.

As an investor, Yichen gravitates toward founders building innovative solutions to how Americans live and work, with an emphasis on entrepreneurs laser focused on improving the lives of hardworking Americans impacted by and at risk of poverty. She believes that where a person lives, learns, and works should not define or limit their access to opportunities, services, and products.

“Yichen joins us at a time of tremendous growth across Medicaid, partnerships, and systems change. Bringing her on will drive even greater impact,”  managing partner Amon Anderson says. “Her wealth of experience will help us identify the most innovative entrepreneurs solving poverty in America and support our existing portfolio companies as they scale.”

Yichen comes to us from Lumos Capital Group, where she was a co-founder, principal, growth partner, head of impact, and current advisory board director. Her background in edtech and the future of work at the growth equity stage will be beneficial to our portfolio companies. She knows how to support founders get to their next chapter of growth, and help them scale. Prior to Lumos, Yichen was a technology investment banker at Goldman Sachs, working with public and private internet and software companies on M&A and IPOs.

Yichen is a board director of the Kachuwa Impact Fund, where she invests in real estate as well as growth stage companies like One Mighty Mill. She is an Investment Committee member of the SK2 Fund, where she invests in fund managers as well as managing the private and public equity portfolio of a values-based spend down family office. She holds a B.A. in social studies and visual arts from Harvard and an MBA from UVA. She is on faculty and a lead facilitator for the Just Economy Institute.
